When does new content launch?
World of Warcraft: Forever launches globally on 4 November 2026 at 3:00 p.m. PST. Beta opened 17 September 2026 and has already moved well past the starting zones. New raids do not arrive on day one. Hyjal Summit and the Barrow Deeps unlock on 9 December 2026, five weeks after launch.
Two Classic rules carry through all of it. There is no flying and no level scaling, so leveling through the new zones stays as important as anything at the level cap.

Four new leveling zones
Four regions join the 1 to 60 journey, and Blizzard counts more than a thousand new quests across that leveling range as a whole. On Mount Hyjal you help clean up after Archimonde's defeat and push into Darkwhisper Gorge. In Shen'dralas, between Mulgore and Desolace, you dig into a hidden history tied to the Shen'dralar, Eldre'Thalas, Dire Maul, and the region's centaur tribes.
The Riverglades frontier adds more than 150 quests across the mid-30s to mid-40s, built around rivers, trade routes, and grudges between its settlements. Zephras Isle is the new level 1 to 12 starting zone for the Skyborne, a skybound elf race with architecture inspired by Skywall. Horde Skyborne lean on elemental traditions and unlock Shaman; Alliance Skyborne pursue arcane lineage and unlock Mage. Both sides can also roll Warrior, Hunter, Rogue, or Druid, with Skyborne-specific druid forms.
Nine new dungeons and two new raids
Nine dungeons bring half-built corners of Azeroth to life, each tied to a level range: Hall of Thanes under Ironforge (around 13), Ruins of Lordaeron in Tirisfal Glades (15), Excavation Site: Wetlands above Whelgar's dig (26), City of Dalaran in the Alterac Mountains (28), the Drowned City in Stranglethorn Vale (35), Krol'dok Stronghold on the Riverglades frontier (40), Alcaz Prison in Dustwallow Marsh (48), Blackmaw Hold in Azshara (55), and Shaper's Terrace in Un'Goro Crater (58). The four earliest line up as five-player groups; the newer five have not had their group size confirmed yet. None of the nine have a Heroic mode, and there is no automated Dungeon Finder, only a Looking for Group tool.
Two raids follow in December: the Barrow Deeps for 10 players at the level cap, and Hyjal Summit for 20, set at one of Warcraft's most storied locations. Both bring new tier sets and a legendary reward Blizzard has not detailed yet. The Darkspear Islands battleground, a 15 versus 15 fight off the coast of Kalimdor mixing Arathi Basin-style flag play with point control, rounds out the launch content.
What changed in the October beta
The beta has moved past the early levels. On the 1 October 2026 beta build, Blizzard raised the level cap to 30 and opened three more dungeons for testing: Excavation Site: Wetlands, Razorfen Downs, and Uldaman. The same build cut dungeon quests' bonus experience by half, on top of the quest's normal reward, after player feedback that dungeon leveling felt too fast.
On 8 October, City of Dalaran opened for testing. The same patch increased dungeon creature-kill XP by approximately 20% and fixed the lower-level-enemy XP calculation in mixed-level parties. Episode 3 explains the goal: repeat visits should feel worthwhile without making dungeon grinding dominate the leveling journey.
Systems beyond the new zones
New systems run alongside the new places. Legacy rewards players who like leveling alts: points earned through Legacy Challenges get spent in trees for Professions, Adventure, and Resourcefulness, with each character able to spend up to 16 points at launch. Camping turns the old Cooking Fire into a Basic Campfire other players can sit at for buffs and add crafted objects to. Transmog is opt-in and can be turned off entirely, and you can mix Classic and modern visual presets, HD and SD character models, and play with a gamepad.
Keeping track of which of these systems have gone live, which dungeon or raid unlocks next, and what the current beta build actually changed is the kind of checklist Wowdee is built for. The Wowdee add-on + app will track each announced feature as Blizzard confirms it, so you can see at a glance what is already in the game and what is still ahead.
Still to come
Not yet settled by our sources or tested in game:
- Bosses and entrances for the nine new dungeons beyond what beta testing has reached.
- The name and identity of the revamped iconic raid promised later in the roadmap.
- Whether the two datamined, unconfirmed dungeons (Half-Pint Tavern, Manor Mistmantle) are part of the 2027 roadmap.
