Upgrade tips
Tooltips say when an item is an upgrade for your spec or one of your alts, and by how much. Upgrades and quest items stand out in your bags.
On gear tooltips, in your bags and in the quest window.
Hover any gear
The tooltip says Upgrade for your spec and by how much, or tells you it’s about the same or worse.
Spot it in your bags
Upgrades get a green arrow and quest items a gold border, so they stand out.
Pick the right reward
When a quest offers a choice, the best upgrade is marked in green and the best seller in gold. You still pick.
Questions
Does it tell me about my alts too?
Yes. A tradable item can also show as an upgrade for one of your alts.
How sure is the percentage?
It compares stat weights for your spec with what you wear now. It’s an estimate, not a damage or healing simulation.
Is it on by default?
Bag highlights and the quest reward highlight are on. Turn on Upgrade tips in Settings or the Handbook.
