What Wowdee uses, why, who receives it and the choices you have.

Controller and contact

Future Developments s.r.o., Rybná 716/24, 110 00 Praha 1, Czech Republic, company ID 03472451, registered at the Municipal Court in Prague under file C 231242, is the controller of personal data described here. Email us at info@wowdee.com.

Waitlist and attribution

When you request a waitlist link, we use your email address, the form or page you used, the request time, and a one-way hash of the confirmation token to send and secure that link. If the email provider has not given us a final delivery result, our delivery queue temporarily keeps a readable copy of the random token so it can retry the same link. That copy is cleared when delivery succeeds or definitively fails, when the link is used, or when the daily cleanup finds the 24-hour link expired. This is our legitimate interest in verifying requests and preventing somebody signing up another person (Article 6(1)(f)). Once you confirm, we keep your address to tell you when Wowdee opens based on your consent (Article 6(1)(a)). You may withdraw that consent at any time.

We also receive campaign tags and ad click identifiers from your landing address, a partner ref code, the referring site, and the landing page. For the current visit, we use this to understand which ads, partners and posts work—our legitimate interest in measuring promotion (Article 6(1)(f)). If you enable Advertising, your browser also remembers the first visit and latest sourced visit and may share conversion events with the configured advertising providers, based on your consent (Article 6(1)(a)). We do not send your email address to analytics or advertising tags.

Bug reports and downloads

A bug report contains what you write, any contact you choose to add, and diagnostic details supplied by the add-on: its version, the game version and language, your level, class and race, location, and errors it noticed. The add-on does not add account or character names. We send the report to the team's private Discord channel to investigate and fix it, based on our legitimate interest in maintaining Wowdee (Article 6(1)(f)).

For a counted download, we keep the file, computer type, country inferred by our host, referring site, time, and aggregate counts. A short note goes to the team's private Discord channel. That note does not contain the request IP address. We use this information for our legitimate interest in understanding and operating downloads (Article 6(1)(f)).

Tester applications

When you apply to test Wowdee, we receive your name, email address and Discord username. We send the application to the team's private Discord channel (or receive it by email, if the page offers that instead), use your username to find you on our Discord server and give you access to the testers' channel, and may email you about testing. We process this to handle the application you asked us to and to run testing with you (Article 6(1)(b)).

Past event registrations and enquiries

We retain records from a past event: email address, the form used, request time, where the visit came from (as described under Waitlist and attribution), a one-way hash of a confirmation link, and the confirmation time for confirmed registrations. A readable delivery-queue copy of a link may remain until the daily cleanup finds it expired. Registration and confirmation are closed, and no further confirmation or registration emails are sent. Copies previously delivered by Resend may also remain in our inbox at info@wowdee.com. We use retained records only to handle existing registrations and any necessary follow-up (Article 6(1)(b)).

Past sponsor enquiries contain the company, website, name, email address and message supplied. They remain in our inbox only while needed to handle the enquiry and any follow-up (Article 6(1)(b)).

Hosting, security and game images

Vercel handles requests to host and secure the site and keeps request data such as IP address, user agent, requested address, response and time. Vercel BotID uses browser and request signals when a protected form is submitted to detect automated abuse. We use both for our legitimate interests in delivering and protecting the site and forms (Article 6(1)(f)).

Some item icons and character images load directly from Blizzard's servers. Like any remote image host, Blizzard receives the request IP address, browser information, time and the image address. Our legitimate interest is showing the game content the page describes (Article 6(1)(f)); Blizzard processes the request under its own privacy notice.

Optional Analytics and Advertising are separate and off until you enable them. Reject all and Accept all have the same prominence, or you can save a mixed choice. The lawful basis for either optional category is your consent (Article 6(1)(a)). Change or withdraw it at any time under Cookies in the footer; withdrawal does not affect processing that was lawful before it.

  • Necessary choice record: local storage key wowdee:consent holds the policy version, Analytics and Advertising choices, and the time saved. It has no automatic expiry and remains until you clear site data or replace it. An unknown or older version is ignored so we ask again.
  • Advertising attribution: local storage key wowdee:attribution remembers the first and latest sourced visits only while Advertising is enabled. Turning Advertising off removes it.
  • Google Analytics: if enabled, _ga distinguishes visitors and_ga_<container-id> preserves session state. Google documents a default lifetime of two years, although browsers may shorten it. Our Analytics property retains user and event data for up to 14 months.
  • Google Ads: if Advertising is enabled, the active Google Ads tag may use_gcl_* identifiers for conversion and campaign attribution. Google documents a lifetime of 90 days for these cookies.
  • TikTok advertising: if Advertising is enabled, the active TikTok Pixel may use_ttp, ttcsid_* and ttclid for advertising measurement, optimisation and matching. TikTok documents a lifetime of 13 months from when these are set or last used.

Analytics and advertising recipients

With Analytics enabled, Google Analytics receives online identifiers, IP address in transit, device and browser details, referring and viewed pages, and the actions we define. Google says Analytics does not log or store individual IP addresses. We use aggregated reports to understand use of the site. Analytics is not configured and no Analytics request is made before this choice. If Google Ads is separately listed and enabled under Advertising, it may use the shared Google tag only for that Ads destination.

With Advertising enabled, we remember campaign attribution and load only the advertising services configured for this deployment. The active advertising providers are Google Ads and TikTok. A configured provider may receive online identifiers, IP address, device/browser details, referring and viewed pages, and events such as a waitlist request or its confirmation (never the email address itself). Google Ads and TikTok also learn of a download click, and TikTok receives its kind and selected operating system; the click does not prove a download or installation finished. Providers may match events to an account or advertising profile under the linked privacy notice. Google Ads, which also runs our ads on YouTube, may in this way count a sign-up or download towards an ad you watched there, even without clicking it.

Who receives the data

We use the following recipients only where the described feature needs them:

  • Vercel for hosting, request logs and BotID protection.
  • Turso for waitlist records, archived event registrations and requests, aggregate download counts and the log that limits confirmation emails.
  • Resend to deliver waitlist confirmation and launch emails; it previously delivered event registrations and sponsor enquiries to our inbox.
  • Discord for the private team channels containing bug reports, tester applications and download notes.
  • Google for Analytics when enabled, and Google Ads only if it is listed above and enabled.
  • The advertising providers listed above, only when Advertising is enabled.
  • Blizzard for directly loaded game images and, if available, Battle.net sign-in.
  • Professional advisers or public authorities if disclosure is necessary to establish legal claims or required by law.

Vercel, Turso and Resend generally act as service providers for us. Other recipients may also process data for their own security, service and advertising purposes under their terms; this includes Discord, Google, advertising platforms and Blizzard. We do not sell your email address or give it to another company to market its own products.

International transfers

Several recipients are based in, or use systems in, countries outside the European Economic Area, including the United States. Where an adequacy decision does not cover a transfer, we rely on the recipient's EU–US Data Privacy Framework participation where applicable or European Commission standard contractual clauses, together with supplementary safeguards where required. Email info@wowdee.com for details or a copy of the relevant safeguards; protected commercial information may be removed.

How long we keep data

  • Unconfirmed waitlist requests are deleted after 30 days. A confirmation link works for 24 hours; any readable delivery-queue copy is cleared sooner when delivery settles or the link is used, otherwise by the next daily cleanup after expiry.
  • Confirmed email addresses and their source/attribution remain until you withdraw or ask us to delete them.
  • Hosting request logs are kept for no more than 30 days.
  • Google Analytics user and event data is retained for up to 14 months; browser-storage lifetimes are listed above.
  • Bug reports stay until the issue is resolved and no longer needs investigation or a record.
  • Tester applications stay while you take part in testing, or until you ask us to delete yours.
  • The log that limits confirmation emails keeps each send for a day, then deletes it with the next request or at the latest the next daily cleanup.
  • Past event requests are deleted 30 days after their last email. Confirmation links no longer work; any remaining readable delivery-queue copy is cleared by the next daily cleanup after its original 24-hour expiry. Confirmed registrations stay only while needed to settle existing event obligations and follow-up, or until you ask us to delete yours.
  • Download notes stay while needed to analyse download trends; aggregate counts may be kept without a person-level identifier.
  • Correspondence stays while needed to answer and handle any follow-up or legal issue.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may ask us to give you access to your personal data, correct it, erase it, restrict its use, or provide eligible data in a portable format. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting earlier lawful processing. Email info@wowdee.com; we may ask for enough information to verify the request and normally respond within one month.

You may complain to the Czech Office for Personal Data Protection or the data protection authority where you live or work, or where you believe an infringement occurred.

What is optional and automated

You are not legally or contractually required to give us personal data. An email address is necessary only if you want to join the waitlist or apply to test, which also needs your name and Discord username; report contact details, Battle.net sign-in, Analytics and Advertising are optional. Refusing an optional cookie category does not block the site.

Vercel BotID automatically assesses protected form submissions and a suspicious request may be refused. It is an anti-abuse check, not a decision that has legal or similarly significant effects. If a genuine request is blocked, try again or contact info@wowdee.com. We do not otherwise use personal data for automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects.

Changes to this notice

We update this page when the processing changes and show the date below. If a change affects optional storage or tags, we can change the consent-record version so the old answer is ignored and the choices are shown again.
