From the whole world to the street.

Your quest log stays open beside the map, and every character comes back to its own view.

Zoom where you point

Scroll to zoom toward your cursor in small, smooth steps, and zone maps fade in over the world in one quick cross-fade. Drag across neighboring zones, into cities and over to the other continent.

See the ground itself

Zoom in close and detailed terrain takes over, with the buildings and water around you.

Go underground

Caves and interiors have their own underground maps. Height controls step through each level, and entrances are marked where they really are.

Into dungeons, and back out

Dungeon maps open right on Big Dee Map, floor by floor. Back outside returns you to the entrance.

Choose what the map shows.

Pick from 32 layers, each with its own switch. Quest and goal markers follow the character you’re playing.

Plan the trip before you take it.

Flight routes
Compare routes between the flight points you’ve learned. A journey you’ve flown shows its recorded time; any other shows a clearly marked estimate.
Boats and zeppelins
Their connections are on the map, beside the flight routes.
Your group
Group members appear on the map, so you can find each other.
Along the way
Known innkeepers, stable masters, spirit healers and graveyards.
Find and mark
Search maps and known locations, then point the arrow there or open its details. Ctrl-click drops a temporary compass pin; Alt-click saves a named note.

Light on your computer.

Big Dee Map stops updating the moment you close it and lets go of its working caches. Imagery and markers reuse fixed-size pools, and you can switch detailed imagery off. Optional profiling shows its CPU time and Wowdee’s total memory.

Questions

Does Big Dee Map replace the quest log?

No. The game’s quest log remains available beside the map. Big Dee Map adds a continuous map view and layers from Wowdee’s other tools.

Does it show where my quest objectives are?

Yes. Quest areas shades where your quests in progress send you, as on the game’s own map, with the same tooltip. It has its own switch under Layers.

Does it show everything that is alive or available?

No. It shows known locations and your recorded progress. A rare marker means a rare was seen there; gathering spots were recorded there.

Which character’s progress does it use?

The current character’s quest, book, wishlist and planning state. You can also include outstanding dungeon quests for your alts.

Will the detailed map keep working in the background?

Closing the map releases its working caches and stops map updates. Textures and markers use fixed limits, and you can turn detailed imagery off. Optional profiling helps check CPU time and memory in your own client.

Are flight times exact?

Routes use learned flight points. A journey you have recorded shows its measured duration; other routes show an estimate.

Can I change the map’s size and detail?

Yes. Resize the map or go fullscreen, and choose detailed imagery, labels and blending in map options. Find me returns to your character, and each character remembers its map view.

Can I use the original map?

Yes. Choose Original map, then use its Big Dee Map button to return; it sits beside the map’s own corner buttons, not under them. Unsupported views, combat and controller mode use the game’s map automatically.
