Type what you’re after
A name, a job or a nickname such as “fa”, “fp”, “ah” or “inn”. Before you type, Search lists what’s nearest to you: innkeeper, flight master, your class trainer, repair, bank and auction house.
Don’t worry about typos
Small mistakes are fine. “frist aid” and “inkeeper” still find the answer, and Search says what it looked for.
Press Follow
The Wowdee arrow points at the result, across zones on the same continent. You do the walking: the arrow doesn’t move your character, click anything or play for you.
What it finds.
Try a name, a job, a nickname or a plain question.
- NPCs
- Every friendly NPC with a known spot, including ones you’ve never visited.
- Trainers
- By what they teach: all 12 professions, class trainers, weapon masters, riding, pet and portal trainers.
- Services
- Flight master, innkeeper, banker, auctioneer, stable master, battlemaster, repair, vendor and spirit healer.
- Quests
- About 2,500 quests your character can take. Follow goes to the giver, or to the objective or hand-in once you’ve accepted.
- Zones and dungeons
- Every zone on the Wowdee map and every dungeon, including Forever’s new ones.
- Dungeon bosses
- Under other names too: “infurnus” finds Magmatus. Bosses open in the Dungeon journal.
- Plain questions
- “dungeon 25” or “level 20 dungeons” for levels, “van cleef loot” for boss loot, “deadmines quests” for a dungeon’s quests.
- Your spells
- Your own class’s spells, each pointing to your class trainer.
- Items
- 23,000+ items, each saying where it comes from: creature drop, vendor, quest or dungeon boss. Aetherwisp Bracers, for one, are dropped by Faldrim Anvilmar in Hall of Thanes. Hover for the game’s item tooltip, and follow an item a vendor sells to that vendor. Items you hold, wish for or use in your professions come first.
- Wowdee itself
- Wowdee’s own tools, Handbook features and settings.
What it won’t do.
- It doesn’t find the other faction’s NPCs, monsters or rares, other classes’ spells, recipes you haven’t learned, your notes, guild members or other players, or mailboxes yet.
- It points the way and nothing more. The arrow doesn’t move your character, click anything or play for you. Nothing is automated.
Questions
What happens to my guide arrow when I press Follow?
It pauses. It comes back when you arrive and walk away, or when you right-click the arrow or press Stop.
What does “Approximate location” mean?
NPC spots in Stormwind, Mulgore, Redridge and the Eastern Plaguelands say “Approximate location” until you visit that NPC.
Which name do I type for an item?
Items outside your own lists are found by their English name.
Does Search use the internet?
No. WoW add-ons can’t use the internet, so Search works from data shipped in the add-on.
