What Talented changes
Talented sits in the Adventure Legacy tree, and Blizzard describes it in one line: it allows players to unlock talent points up to five levels lower than normal. It changes when points arrive, not how many you end up with.
Nothing in Blizzard's text adds talent points at level 60. Players in the Legacy Points forum thread have floated extra points at 57 and 60 as a separate wish; Talented itself doesn't provide them.
Blizzard hasn't published the perk's rank count, cost or prerequisites. The same thread talks about '5/5 Talented' and about investing six to ten points to get there, which reads like a five-rank perk behind an in-tree requirement. That's players reading the beta, not a published cost.

Milestone breakpoints, with and without Talented
Forever's talent trees keep the familiar rows, with one-point milestone talents at 11, 21 and 31 points in a tree and a new milestone at 16. Blizzard's Priest and Warrior deep dive confirms that talents become available from level 10. Neither post restates the rest of the schedule, so the table assumes Classic Era's one point per level after that, which matches how beta players describe Forever's normal start.
| Points in one tree | Earliest level, normal | Earliest level, full Talented |
|---|---|---|
| 11 (first milestone) | 20 | 15 |
| 16 (new milestone) | 25 | 20 |
| 21 | 30 | 25 |
| 31 | 40 | 35 |
| Your last talent point | 60 | 55 |
Reading the table for your class
Blizzard only states the maximum shift, so how far a partial investment moves you depends on rank values it hasn't published. Check the tooltip in your own client before counting on a specific level.
This guide doesn't name class-by-class milestone talents. The trees are still changing in beta, and Blizzard's recap names the thresholds rather than every talent that sits on them. The practical question is simpler: which of your milestones would change how you play at 15, 20 or 25 rather than five levels later?
Worth the points while leveling?
The forum debate splits neatly. One side calls Talented too good to skip while leveling and useless at 60, and expects most players to buy it fully and respec on reaching the cap. The other side points out that it's optional, that it's fun, and that respeccing exists for exactly this.
Both sides agree on what it is: a leveling purchase. It's strongest on a character still short of its key milestones, and it does nothing once that character holds every point. Plan to move those points at 60 into something that still works there.
That move happens at a class trainer in a major city, which Blizzard's Priest and Warrior deep dive says handles Legacy talents as well as class talents. Its cost is still open: in the 8 October beta build the cheapest Legacy respec costs 1 silver and the cost drops by one step each hour, and Blizzard says this applies only during the beta.
One player estimates that a first level-60 character which maxes a crafting profession and clears every dungeon band holds about nine Legacy Points. If the costs land near what players expect, that could put a large Talented investment within reach of the second character from its first level.
Still to come
Not yet settled by our sources or tested in game:
- Talented's rank count, Legacy Point cost per rank and any in-tree prerequisite.
- How many levels each rank moves your schedule; Blizzard only states the five-level maximum.
- Whether Forever grants one talent point per level from 10 onward; Blizzard confirms only the level 10 start.
- The launch cost of a Legacy respec; the 1-silver, hourly-decaying cost is beta-only.
