Leveling perks that stop paying at 60
Some Adventure perks only work while you're gaining experience. Well Rested raises the rested experience cap and speeds its build-up, and Talented unlocks talent points up to five levels early. Neither does anything for a capped character, and players in the Legacy Points forum thread already expect to buy Talented while leveling and respec on hitting 60.
Others still work in the world but not in raids. Blizzard excludes dungeons, raids and battlegrounds from Field Medicine's shorter Recently Bandaged debuff. High Alert's stealth detection is for the world outside battlegrounds. Frequent Flier and Field Guide stay useful for travel and farming between raid nights.

Perks with a case on raid night
None of these adds damage or healing. Blizzard frames Legacy as horizontal progression, so a raid build is about saving time and gold, not about throughput.
| Perk | Tree | What Blizzard says it does | Raid-night value |
|---|---|---|---|
| The Quick and the Dead | Resourcefulness | Faster corpse runs; party and raid buffs free after resurrecting | Blizzard's own framing: faster wipe recovery |
| Reinforce | Resourcefulness | Less durability damage from death | Smaller repair bills after wipes |
| Permanence | Resourcefulness | Longer party, raid and camping buffs | Fewer rebuffs across a long night |
| Gourmand | Resourcefulness | Longer food buffs | Food that covers more of the raid |
| Reagent Economy | Resourcefulness | Class abilities no longer need purchasable reagents; tier 1 camping features need no materials | Buffing without vendor restocks |
| Bartering | Professions | Lower gold prices on vendor items | Cheaper vendor-bought supplies |
Putting a raid layout together
Blizzard places Reagent Economy deeper in Resourcefulness, which suggests other Resourcefulness points come first, but the gate isn't published. Count what reaching it costs in your own client before giving up perks you use.
Professions perks can earn a place too. If you cook or craft your own raid supplies, Master Chef's extra cooking results or Dedicated Study's daily cooldown may be worth more to you than another convenience perk.
Pick one raid layout and keep it rather than swapping every week. Blizzard's Priest and Warrior deep dive puts Legacy talent changes at a class trainer in a major city, and launch respec costs aren't published; in the 8 October beta build, the cheapest Legacy respec is 1 silver and the cost drops one step per hour, a beta-only rule.
The raid Legacy Challenges are separate goals: Onyxia, all 13 Hyjal Summit bosses and all eight Barrow Deeps bosses are worth one point each.
Still to come
Not yet settled by our sources or tested in game:
- Whether Thrill of Adventure's health and mana return works inside raid instances.
- Reagent Economy's point gate and exactly which class abilities it covers.
- The launch cost of a Legacy respec.
