What Blizzard has confirmed
The only official word on the ring is one sentence in Blizzard's Deep Dive panel recap: Mor'ladim's quest in Duskwood still offers a two-handed sword, but now also grants the Ladimore Heirloom Ring for spellcasters. Blizzard uses it as an example of quest rewards being updated or expanded to support more classes and roles.
That settles where the ring comes from and who it's for. It doesn't say which step of the Mor'ladim storyline hands it out, whether you choose it instead of the sword, what level you need to accept the quest or wear the ring, or which faction can do it. The October 8 beta development notes, the latest dated change list read for this guide, don't mention the ring or the quest.

Why casters shouldn't skip Mor'ladim now
A two-handed sword was never much use to a Mage, Priest or Warlock, so casters had little gear reason to see this Duskwood story through. The ring changes that. It also fits the wider itemization rework in the same recap, where spellcaster-oriented weapons now carry spell damage and healing so casters get level-up rewards to look forward to, the way melee classes always have.
If you're leveling a caster through Duskwood, treat Mor'ladim's quests as worth finishing rather than as a warrior's errand. Read the reward panel before you click: Blizzard hasn't said whether the ring is a choice against the sword or a separate reward.
Heirloom is in the name, not the rules
In Retail, heirlooms are account-bound gear that scales with your level. Nothing Blizzard has said ties that system to this ring. The Ladimore name points back to the Duskwood story the quest tells, and the recap describes the ring only as a quest reward for spellcasters. Don't count on it scaling with you or moving between characters until its tooltip is public.
Still to come
Not yet settled by our sources or tested in game:
- Which quest in the Mor'ladim storyline awards the ring, and whether it is a choice against the two-handed sword.
- The ring's stats, quality and level required to equip it, which may differ from the level needed to accept the quest.
- Which faction or factions can complete the quest in Forever.
- Whether the ring has any account binding or level scaling.
