Where Krol'dok Stronghold is

Krol'dok Stronghold is inside Riverglades, WoW: Forever's new frontier zone on the eastern side of the Eastern Kingdoms. It is a five-player dungeon for levels 40 to 45.

Blizzard describes it as a sprawling fortress filled with workshops, encampments and guarded interior passages. Riverglades covers much of the mid-30s to mid-40s, so the stronghold falls near the end of the zone's questing.

Dee follows a trail of large ogre footprints and dropped cargo across Riverglades grassland to the timber gate of a sprawling fortress with workshops and tents, under a rising moon with chant marks drifting from its walls.
Follow the outrunners' trail and it ends at Krol'dok's gate. The chanting only starts at night.

Levels 40 to 45, not 40 to 55

If you have seen Krol'dok listed for levels 40 to 55, that number came out of BlizzCon reports in September. On 15 September community manager Kaivax corrected it on the official forums: in WoW: Forever, Krol'dok Stronghold is for levels 40 to 45. Blizzard's 20 October dungeon overview uses the same range.

That puts it between the Drowned City (35 to 40) and Alcaz Prison (48 to 53).

What happens inside

Ogre outrunners have been kidnapping travelers and ransacking communities throughout Riverglades. You follow their trail to the stronghold, then fight your way through it to put an end to the raids.

Blizzard also points at a second mystery: strange chanting heard from the stronghold after nightfall. It has not said who is chanting or whether anything in the run depends on the time of day.

The team seems to be keeping it under wraps. On the 8 October official podcast, two of the designers named Krol'dok as their favourite dungeon in Forever, and one said it is "another one we're kind of saving a little bit".

Wowdee's dungeon guide will add Krol'dok's quests and bosses as soon as they can be checked, and fit the run into your Riverglades route by character level.

Still to come

Not yet settled by our sources or tested in game:

  • Boss names, boss count and their order.
  • The dungeon's quests, and whether they start in Riverglades quest hubs.
  • Who is chanting after nightfall, and whether it affects the run.
