What the beta data shows

ForeverDiff, which reads the beta client and compares it with Classic Era, lists the schematic as new to Forever. The item it teaches carries the tag NYI, short for not yet implemented, which developers use for content that exists in the data but is not finished.

Zockify lists the Weather Machine among ten recipes that use at least one of Forever's three new endgame herbs, Marefoil, Demonsage and Death Lotus. It does not say which herb or how many, and it says where those herbs grow is not known yet. The one hint so far is indirect: Blizzard Watch's beta enchant list describes Enchant Gloves – Lotus Claw as giving a small chance of Death Lotus while gathering herbs in Hyjal.

ForeverDiff's read of beta build 1.60.1.70338 (10 October). Client data only, not a test of the crafted item.

What it does: nothing published

No source describes an effect. The name suggests weather, but nothing in the data shows a weather change, a buff, or any connection to biome gear. Don't plan gear or gold around it until the item is finished and someone has used it.

If you mean to make one

Engineering 300 is the top of Artisan. Mobalytics says Artisan needs 200 Engineering and character level 35 to train, and that with the beta capped at level 30 it can't be trained yet. It names Buzzek Bracketswing in Gadgetzan and Kaylaena Springwhisper on Mount Hyjal as Artisan trainers for both factions.

Two planning points follow. The schematic binds when picked up, so the Engineer who will craft it has to obtain it themselves rather than buy it from another player. And the word Gnomish does not prove it needs Gnomish Engineering: Mobalytics notes that several Gnomish items only require Engineering to use, while others require the specialization.

Still to come

Not yet settled by our sources or tested in game:

  • Where the schematic comes from: vendor, drop, quest or Merchant's Favor.
  • The full reagent list, including which new herb it uses and how many.
  • What the finished machine does, and whether it is a camp object, a usable device or something else.
  • Whether it requires the Gnomish Engineering specialization.
