What is the Barrow Deeps raid?

Barrow Deeps is a new maximum-level raid built for 10 players. Blizzard revealed it at the What's Next panel on 12 September 2026, describing it as a "maximum-level 10-player challenge" set alongside the 20-player Hyjal Summit.

You will need a level 60 character to step inside, since that is Forever's level cap. Barrow Deeps opens with the game's first raid wave on 9 December 2026, five weeks after the 4 November 2026 launch.

That same panel set the tone for how you will get there. WoW: Forever has no flying mounts and no level scaling, with Blizzard citing a continued focus on challenge, preparation, communication, and cooperation across the game. Expect to travel to Barrow Deeps the old way, whenever its entrance is revealed.

Eight bosses, ten players, and a door that is still shut.

Eight bosses, one Legacy Point

Clearing Barrow Deeps matters for more than loot. WoW: Forever's new Legacy System awards one account-wide Legacy Point for defeating all eight Barrow Deeps bosses. That sits in the Raids category alongside defeating Onyxia and all 13 Hyjal Summit bosses, three points total for the whole category.

An eight-boss Barrow Deeps clear banks the same single point as a one-boss Onyxia kill. Legacy Points are shared across your account, so you only need to earn that point once, on whichever character finishes the raid, then spend it on any character's Legacy Perks. At launch, each character can spend up to 16 Legacy Points on Perks, so a Raids point you bank on your main slots neatly into whichever Perk tree you build on an alt instead.

Blizzard has not published the eight boss names or the order you fight them in. Eight is a count to build a roster around, not a pull order.

A tier set and a legendary are coming

At the same panel, Blizzard said Hyjal Summit and Barrow Deeps "set the stage for raid encounters, new tier sets, and a legendary reward" it plans to reveal in full later. Neither Barrow Deeps' tier bonuses nor how you earn the legendary have been detailed, and Blizzard has not said whether the legendary drops from Barrow Deeps, Hyjal Summit, or both.

What Barrow Deeps still has not confirmed

The 1 October 2026 beta build caps characters at level 30 and does not include raid content, so nothing has changed since the September panels. The entrance, any requirement beyond 10 players, the lockout, and the boss names and loot all remain unannounced. Guides claiming specific boss names or multiple entrances are not sourced to anything Blizzard, Wowhead, or the beta has published, so treat those claims as unconfirmed until Blizzard or the beta client says otherwise.

Wowdee will turn the boss list into a loot checklist for your Barrow Deeps roster the moment it is public, showing who in your group still needs each piece after every clear.

Still to come

Not yet settled by our sources or tested in game:

  • The entrance, any requirement beyond 10 players, and the lockout.
  • The eight boss names, fight order, and their loot.
  • How the teased tier set and legendary reward are earned.
