What the quest asks of you

Plundering the Plunderers is a Rogue class quest. Blizzard's 8 October notes list it under Rogue and say only that it now has map markers, which takes most of the guesswork out of finding its objectives.

The rest comes from players in a beta forum thread from late September. In their description, a robot gives you two items: a cracker and a set of thieves' tools. The cracker is for a parrot that guards the treasure. One player refers to the robot's items as the E.C.A.D. and the tools.

Don't mistake it for the Rogue poison quest. Nothing in Blizzard's notes or the thread connects it to learning poisons, and Blizzard has not published its reward.

The Skyborne robot bug

In September, Skyborne Rogues reported that the robot offered them nothing: no dialogue option, no cracker, no tools. They tried abandoning and retaking the quest, relogging, waiting for the next day and waiting for a patch, all without luck. Rogues of other races could finish it, which led one player to guess the robot was reading Skyborne characters as the wrong faction.

By 25 September the thread had split. One player reported it working that day and the original poster marked it fixed, while another said it was still broken on their account. Neither the 1 nor the 8 October notes name a fix for it.

If the robot still won't talk to you, one reply says thieves' tools can be bought. Nobody reported another way to get the cracker, so without it the parrot stays in your way.

Still to come

Not yet settled by our sources or tested in game:

  • Where the quest starts, its level and whether both factions can take it.
  • What the treasure holds and what the quest rewards.
  • Whether the Skyborne robot bug is fixed for every character; Blizzard has not named a fix.
  • Where thieves' tools are sold if the robot does not hand them out.
