Is WoW Forever free with your subscription?
WoW: Forever itself has no separate price tag. Blizzard's own pre-purchase page says that when Forever launches globally on 4 November 2026 at 3:00 p.m. PST, access is included with your WoW Subscription or Game Time, the same way WoW Classic already works.
You are not buying a new box. One subscription already covers modern WoW, WoW Classic, and now Forever, so if your account is active on launch day you can log in without spending anything extra. In that sense, WoW: Forever is free with a subscription you are probably already paying for.
There is also no free trial or starter edition for Forever. Every player needs an active subscription or Game Time from day one, the same as WoW Classic. Modern WoW is the exception: it still offers a free trial up to level 20.

What does a WoW subscription cost per month?
Battle.net lists the standard US subscription at $14.99 for one month, $13.99 a month on the 3-month plan, and $12.99 a month on the 6-month or 12-month special offer, 13 percent less than paying month to month. The 12-month plan bills that rate as one $155.88 charge a year. EU pricing follows the same shape: 12.99 euros for one month down to 10.99 euros a month on the 6-month or 12-month plan.
That single bill already covers modern WoW, WoW Classic, and now Forever. Forever does not add a second subscription on top of what you already pay.
One thing to plan around: Blizzard has said there are no WoW Tokens or paid boosts planned for Forever, so you cannot convert in-game gold into subscription time inside it, unlike on modern WoW.
WoW Forever price tiers: four optional editions
Everything past the subscription is optional. Four paid editions sit on top of it, three on the Battle.net Shop and the Collector's Edition on the Blizzard Gear Store, each building on the one before it.
- Skyborne Heroic Pack, $29.99: unlocks the Skyborne race and its Zephras Isle starting experience, Early Name Reservation, cosmetics, and one Invite-a-Friend Launch Code. No beta access.
- Skyborne Epic Pack, $59.99: everything in the Heroic Pack, plus beta access from 17 September to 21 October 2026, 30 days of Game Time added at launch, and three Invite-a-Friend codes total.
- Warcraft Forever Collection, $79.99: everything in the Epic Pack, plus Warcraft III: Reforged and the Forsaken Kingdom campaign. Listed for sale only through 11 January 2027.
- Collector's Edition, $150: the physical box, bundling the Collection's digital code with a statue, art prints, pins, and a companion journal. It ships only to select locations in North and South America and was listed as sold out, with restock orders shipping February 2027, as of 5 October 2026.
What you are actually paying for
None of the four editions is required to play WoW: Forever at launch. They are upgrades, not an entry fee. The Heroic and Epic Packs mainly buy early access and cosmetics, the Collection adds Warcraft III story content, and the Collector's Edition is for players who want a physical shelf piece, stock allowing.
If you only want to play the finished game on 4 November, you can buy nothing and still log in with an active subscription.
What to decide before 4 November
Early Name Reservation opens 27 October and closes 3 November, and it comes with any paid edition, not only the Collector's Edition. If a specific character name matters to you, that deadline is the one that counts, not launch day itself.
The Warcraft Forever Collection is also time-limited. Blizzard has it listed for sale only through 11 January 2027. The physical Collector's Edition is its own concern: it already sold out once, had a brief restock, and was sold out again as of 5 October 2026, so do not count on grabbing one at the last minute.
The Wowdee add-on + app will turn this into a short pre-launch checklist: which edition fits what you want, and when the beta, name reservation and Collection sale windows close.
Still to come
Not yet settled by our sources or tested in game:
- Confirmed console pricing or storefront (PlayStation/Xbox) if WoW Forever ships with console support
- Official regional prices outside the US and EU (UK, Canada, Australia) in local currency
- Whether any additional sale, launch promo, or price change happens between now and 4 November
- Whether the Warcraft Forever Collection price or deadline changes after its 11 January 2027 sale window
- Whether the Collector's Edition restocks again before 4 November after selling out on the Blizzard Gear Store
