What a WoW Forever invite-a-friend code does
An Invite-A-Friend Launch Code lets you give a friend who does not have an active WoW: Forever subscription a way to play for free during launch week. Blizzard confirmed the program in its 12 September 2026 pre-purchase announcement: certain upgrade packs include one or more codes you email straight to a friend, who redeems it through Battle.net to play from 4 through 11 November 2026, no subscription or game time required.
The code only covers that one week. After 11 November, your friend needs their own subscription or game time to keep playing, same as anyone else.

Which pack gives you codes, and how many
How many codes you get depends on which WoW: Forever upgrade you buy, not on a base subscription. The Skyborne Heroic Pack includes one Invite-A-Friend Launch Code. The Skyborne Epic Pack includes everything in the Heroic Pack plus two more codes, for three total. The Warcraft Forever Collection includes everything in the Epic Pack, so it also carries three codes. A base subscription or game time, without an upgrade purchase, does not include any codes. Codes also exclude gift purchases, and cannot be redeemed on an account that has already bought an upgrade pack.
Blizzard emails the codes starting 20 October 2026, Pacific time, to your Battle.net account email. Forum posts from purchasers confirm the codes do not ride along with your purchase confirmation or any beta key: those arrive right away, while the invite codes wait for the 20 October email. Do not assume one email covers both.
How to redeem a WoW Forever invite-a-friend code
Codes are not live yet. Blizzard has published the delivery date and the redemption window, not a full walkthrough of the Battle.net screen. Here is the sequence confirmed so far.
11 November is also the last day to redeem a code, so send it to your friend well before then.
- Wait for Blizzard's email, sent from 20 October 2026, with your Invite-A-Friend Launch Code.
- Copy the code and send it directly to the friend you want to invite.
- Your friend redeems the code through Battle.net on their own account.
- They play WoW: Forever free, without a subscription or game time, from 4 through 11 November 2026.
Does the invite code include beta access?
No. Blizzard says plainly that Invite-A-Friend Launch Codes do not include beta access. The WoW: Forever beta runs from 17 September through 21 October 2026, guaranteed for buyers of the Skyborne Epic Pack or Warcraft Forever Collection, and open by invitation to selected players who opt in.
Forum threads from purchasers show the two getting mixed up. People who bought a pack expected one email to cover both beta access and friend codes, since the purchase confirmation mentions both. The Invite-A-Friend codes go out in their own email, starting 20 October, regardless of when your beta access began. They are two different things, on two different schedules.
Separately, whether the older Recruit-A-Friend subscription program, the one that rewards months of a recruit's subscription, will run alongside Forever is still an open question. A player asked on Blizzard's EU forums on 26 September 2026 and had no official answer as of early October.
What is still unclear before codes go out
A few details are not public yet: the full scope of Blizzard's "other restrictions" on eligible invitees, beyond excluding gift purchases and accounts that already own an upgrade pack, and whether Recruit-A-Friend becomes available for Forever at all. The exact Battle.net screen used to redeem a code is not public either. Treat the 4-11 November window as firm until Blizzard says otherwise.
Once your codes arrive, Wowdee will help you and the friend you invite plan that one launch week together: a shared checklist of what to try first, from picking a race and class to the first few quests, so the free week does not go to waste.
Still to come

- Whether the Recruit-A-Friend subscription program will be enabled for WoW: Forever.
- The exact Battle.net screen used to redeem a code, once codes start arriving 20 October 2026.
